TEMPLE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY AWARDED $53 MILLION IN TWO PROJECTS
AT FT. HOOD
The Corps of Engineers selects local firm as the Contractor to
construct projects totaling $53,000,000 at Fort Hood.
Temple, Texas (October 2005) – The Corps
of Engineers has selected MW Builders of Texas, Inc., located in
Temple, Texas, to construct the Enlisted Barracks Complex V and the
Brigade Command and Control Facility at Fort Hood, TX. Construction
is set to begin on both projects before the end of October. The
Barracks facility has an expected duration of 665 days and a
contract value of $45,897,000. The Command and Control Facility has
an expected duration of 480 days and a contract value of $7,200,000.
MW Builders of Texas, Inc. has a long standing relationship with the
Corp of Engineers having successfully completed a number of
important projects. The Corps selected MW Builders as the Contractor
for both projects via the Best Value procurement selection process.
The Best Value selection process is comprised of a combination of
the firm’s technical expertise and price proposal.
Tim Chadwick, MW Builders of Texas president, commented, “We are

working relationship with the Corps of Engineer’s at Fort Hood
through the successful completion of many projects, a number of
which provide new and improved living accommodations for the
soldiers serving our country. Our most recently completed project
was the Access Control Points project wherein we constructed new and
secured entrance facilities at each of the twenty-three entry points
onto the Fort Hood base."
MW Builders is currently the general construction contractor for a
number of other Corps of Engineers projects. At Lackland Air Force
Base in San Antonio, TX the firm is constructing the Student
Dormitory and Dining Facility with a contract value exceeding $32
million and a new student dormitory facility at Goodfellow Air Force
Base in San Angelo, TX valued at over $18 million. MW Builders of
Texas recently completed the FY03 Barracks Complex at Fort Riley,
Kansas. The Enlisted Barracks Complex V will be the third complex MW
Builders has constructed at Fort Hood having previously completed
Enlisted Barracks Complex I at West Fort Hood and Enlisted Barracks
Complex II on the main post. In addition to working with the Corps
of Engineers, MW Builders is also currently constructing the taxiway
apron expansion project for the City of Killeen at the Killeen-Ft
Hood Regional Airport terminal and are putting the finishing touches
on the University of Mary Harden Baylor’s Tryon III student housing
complex in Belton, TX.
