TEMPLE COMPANY AWARDED KANSAS BARRACKS PROJECT
MW Builders of Texas, Inc. awarded $36.5 million contract for Kansas
barracks project.
Temple, Texas (August 2006) – The US Army Corps of Engineers Kansas
City District has awarded MW Builders of Texas, Inc., Temple, TX a
Design-Build contract in the amount of $36,448,000 for the design
and construction of the FY06 SUA Custer Hill Barracks at Fort Riley,
KS.
The contract consists of providing design and construction services
for three individual 3-Story, 156 soldier barracks buildings and all
associated site, road and utility amenities. MW Builders design
partner on this project is GossenLivingston Architecture of Wichita,
KS.
In addition to the Barracks buildings, the contract includes the
design and construction of roadways, over 6000 ft of sewer main, an
electrical substation, 4000 ft of water main and construction of
three pedestrian overpasses.
This will be MW Builders second contract at Fort Riley, previously
completing the FY03 First Brigade Barracks project. Upon completion
of the FY03 Barracks, MW Builders was awarded the 2005 Northwestern
Division Military Contractor of the Year award by the U.S. Army
Corps or Engineers.

include the design responsibilities within our prime contract. This
project will allow us the opportunity to further strengthen our
partnership with the US Army Corps of Engineers as the Government
continues to seek ways in which to expedite the construction of
their projects to meet the demands of the military and provide
support to our service men and women.”
MW Builders currently has three projects under construction at Fort
Hood including the Enlisted Barracks Complex V, the Brigade Command
and Control Facility and the recently awarded, $20 million Tactical
Equipment Shop.
