TEMPLE BUILDER AWARDED MILITARY CONTRACTOR OF THE YEAR
Local company selected as Northwestern division military contractor
of the year.
Temple, Texas (May 2006) – The US Army Corps of Engineers has
selected MW Builders of Texas the Northwestern Division Military
Contractor of the Year for the FY03 1st Brigade Barracks Project at
Fort Riley, KS.
MW Builders of Texas, Inc., located in Temple, TX constructed the
$32,813,510 project, which consisted of two 3-Story Barracks
Buildings to house 312 soldiers, a Soldier Community Building, a
Four Company Operations Building, a Two Company Operations Building
and a Battalion Headquarters Building. These six buildings comprise
a total area of 185,000 sf. The project also included a Design-Build
roadway project consisting of 3 roundabouts and 2 pedestrian
underpasses.
In addition to this award, the project also received the FY04 Kansas
City District “Safety
Saves” award, as well as an “outstanding” performance rating for the
timely completion of the project.
The award ceremony was held on May 16, 2006 at the Northwestern
Division Construction Phase Project Delivery Conference, at Great
Wolf Lodge, Kansas City, Kansas.
MW Builders has a long standing relationship with the Corps of
Engineers, having successfully completed many major projects. They
are currently the general construction contractor for several
projects with the Corps of Engineers, including: the Student
Dormitory and Dining Facility at Lackland Air Force Base in San
Antonio, TX, with a contract value of over $32 million; and the
Enlisted Barracks Complex V and Brigade Command and Control Facility
at Fort Hood, TX, totaling more than $53 million.
